As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I find the experience at TJ Filipino Cuisine truly enchanting. The extensive buffet selection showcases authentic Filipino dishes, offering numerous options that cater to both the adventurous palate and those seeking familiar favorites. Guests rave about the Humbra, a standout dish praised for its robust flavors and delightful textures. Traditional favorites like pancit, lumpia, and chicken adobo grace the buffet, ensuring that there is something for everyone.
During my visit, I was captivated by the overall ambiance. The dining area is spacious and well-designed, making it easy for families with strollers to navigate (as mentioned by Ashley S). The friendly staff, including the remarkable Jelly, are attentive and personable, enhancing the overall dining experience. The subtle live music, sung by a talented young woman, added a serene backdrop to the meal, making each moment feel special.
One highlight of TJ Filipino Cuisine is its dessert selection, featuring the beloved Halo-Halo. It's a refreshing treat that effectively combines various flavors and textures, leaving your taste buds dancing with joy. Lisa Castle emphasized the deliciousness and variety of offerings, including the tempting baked goods available near the cash register. The ube products are a true must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth!
Breakfast is also served at TJ Filipino Cuisine, allowing guests to indulge in classic Filipino morning dishes like Tosilog, which have been praised for their authenticity and rich flavors. The coffee and tea options complement the meals perfectly, making it a fantastic spot to start your day.
For those who appreciate a lively atmosphere, the karaoke area offers an entertaining experience, allowing diners to sing along to their heart's content. Although the food refills may be a bit slow during peak hours, the overall experience makes it worthwhile, as noted by K. T. and Nicholas Biddle in their reviews.
In conclusion, TJ Filipino Cuisine provides an authentic taste of the Philippines right here in Pearland, paired with excellent customer service and a welcoming ambiance. “ This was our first time trying Filipino food. Stopped by on 1/28/25 at lunch hour, and it was a great experience. The hostess gave us a warm welcome in and showed us around. The food was hot, delicious, and fresh! Very clean and relaxing environment with friendly staff. Perfect layout of the dining tables. I was able to push a toddler's jogging stroller through the dining and buffet area with ease; spacious, not overly crowded. I really enjoyed the live music; the young lady had such a beautiful voice. The volume wasn't overwhelming like some live music places I've gone to. It was absolutely perfect! She was very friendly and she's very talented. I will definitely be back! ”
“ This was our first visit to TJ Filipino cuisine. I am familiar with Filipino cuisine and just discovered this wonderful restaurant tucked away in Pearland. There are lots of dishes to choose from, many flavors and many different textures, my favorite was the Humbra but there is so much to love. There is even a section of desserts. Again many flavors and many different textures, some I wasn’t used to but still enjoyed the experience. For those not quite so adventurous there is still fruit to have and then there are some of your standard Filipino cuisines like panzit and lumpia and chicken adobo. TJ‘s also has a counter with pastries and some candies and they even serve breakfast. One of the persons waiting on us, her name was “Jelly” and she was very helpful, kept all the many used plates off of our table and kept our drinks filled. She was extremely personable and fun to talk to. I really look forward to coming back and enjoying this delightful restaurant. ”
“ The food was super delicious & there was a lot of variety to choose from even the soups. The staff was extremely friendly and it wasn't crowded during lunch time. The Halo Halo was really tasty, it was a great dessert. They also sell a lot of baked goods in the front by the cash register. There's a lot of ube products. I recommend trying one of their ube breads. ”
“ Came here for the first time with my wife. We were in the area and we heard so much about this Filipino buffet so we decided to give it a try. I don’t remember all the names of the food items, but there were a lot of varieties. This was my first Filipino buffets and it isn’t expensive at all considering Filipino food being pretty expensive in general. I had about 12 different food items to consume and there were a few more other choices. They also have a little dessert and fruit area. They sell some food items to-go at the counter and they sell Halohalo separately. Their Halohalo was a bit small for 7, but it was very delicious. Their buffet which starts at 1130am, is only lunch and dinner. They also serve breakfast, but it is not a buffet. The drinks are not free, but the refills are. Definitely recommend to come here if you’re ever in the Pearland area. The only thing I’d say that was bad was the refill of of food is pretty slow so you’re sometimes waiting there for the food. It gets kind of bad when there is a line because everyone is grabbing a lot of each item. There is a lot of parking. The staff are friendly and service is on point. They have a karaoke area where people can sing and/or there are entertainers. They have lots of tables to dine at as well. ”
“ I had just gotten back from seeing Manila for the first time, and just walking in to TJ Filipino it smelled like all the best restaurants i tried over there! Had breakfast of Tosilig, which was excellent and every bit as satisfying as the ones I ate in the Philippines. They had good coffee and there was tea as well, and I was happy! Service was excellent and I just wish I could have been there for the buffet, which I think they said usually stays around 11, which was right after I left. :-( They had already started putting it out and when the lady saw me looking she told me I could switch to try some of what they had, but I stuck with my delicious pork belly, rice and eggs. I can't recommend this place enough! Go for a lunch buffet!! ”
“ Went on a whim with the kids just as they were about to close. Didn't expect a buffet, but it was a nice surprise. While the options were limited, the food was yummy. We intend to go back at a more appropriate time. Would recommend stopping by for a good change of pace from the mainstream restaurants. ”
“ We saw this featured on 13 Eyewitness News with Elita Loresca and knew we had to try it! Went today and the food is as authentic as can be. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the Karaoke enhanced our dining experience! We will definitely make the 1 hour drive again soon. ”
“ I was leaving the VA this morning and thought , I need something hot to warm me up. So what better place than TJ Filipino . This is a family owned restaurant. So it’s like eating a Grandma home cooked meal. All the dishes are so delicious. My favorite was the curry chicken. The lumpia was amazing. I definitely will be coming back for more. ”
